Fun Fact: E.T.’s face was inspired by different historical figures – including Albert Einstein. Other features included those of writers Ernest Hemingway and Carl Sandburg. The alien’s aesthetic is due to Spielberg's great work with the incredible designer Carlo Rambaldi.

Fun Fact: Most films are not shot in chronological order due to conflicts with locations, schedules, budgets etc. However, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial is one of the few studio-film exceptions that was filmed in order. Spielberg made that decision to make it easier for the children to have continuity as if it were real life.
